After consultation between the Aclasscelebs staff, we have decided to introduce a list of Approved Image Hosts. From 1st January 2008, only images hosted on the list of sites below will be allowed. Images hosted on any site not listed will be deleted without explanation.

The Approved Image Hosts are:

www.Imageshack.us

www.Imagevenue.com

www.Paintedover.com

www.supload.com

www.putfile.com

www.imagethrust.com

www.filecloud.com (50MB free) [if used, you must set preferences to "Public" or your pics won't be viewable to anybody]

www.zshare.net (Handles 5Mb and larger files.)

www.imagebam.com

www.picsopedia.com

Any member who makes a post not using an approved host will be notified to use one of the approved hosts listed above and the thread will be deleted. If a member continues to use an unapproved host they will be banned. If it is believed that the member is using an image host as spam they will be warned. Repeat offenders will be banned. No start-up image hosts are allowed due to the high volume/bandwidth demands that would be placed on them by this forum.

Be advised that I registered with imagethrust because they would store members photos indefinately. They were all gone within a year. Evil or Very Mad

(I've also noticed while searching that lots of pics posted with uploadem are missing.)

Some hosts only keep files for a maximum of 18 months. Uploadem has been approved but I know they have problems from time to time. My suggestion would be to find a host you like and stick to it. I alternate between Imagevenue and ImageBam and I've been happy with both of them. ImageBam are good because you can upload more than 10 pictures at a time.

Shack and venue are my favorites, but I'm going to check out bam soon.

Me too. I like Imagebam much better now that I don't use Firefox anymore.

I use ImageBam when I have a big bunch to submit, and ImageVenue for smaller posts. I don't really use UploadEm because too frequently the server gets S-L-O-W and doesn't seem to be unreliable enough for steady use. I've used FireFox exclusively since about a month after it was released and I've never had a problem with it.

I used to use IE6, which was great, but then I upgraded to IE7, which is horrible, slow, freezing, lots of bugs. I've found that firefox freezes every once in a while for a few seconds at a time, and I can't open up more than maybe 5 pics at a time or it'll freeze. I now use Opera and the freezing is nonexistant here. I like Opera so far (fingers crossed).
