Postcard Virus

Postby Steve on Mon Feb 25, 2008 6:29 am

I know what you guys are gonna say. "Oh, it's another one of Steve's chain letters!" or
Steve, the king of Chain Mail.
or
i hate chain letters.
Say what you want, but if you open an email like this and your hard drive gets wiped because of it, don't say I didn't warn you.

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with

an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a

virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of

your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail

address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this

to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times

than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by a

friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by

Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee

yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus

simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is

kept.

COPY THIS, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO

THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US.

Anybody who opens any mail from anyone they don't know is a retard. Plain and simple. Chain letters like this only serve to get people all fired up. All that needs to be said is....don't open junk mail. These letters are the equivalent of Fox News.

Oh and another thing..chain letters spread viruses, you should probably stop opening them if you are reprinting these from your email.

Are you talking to me or just people in general?

If you mean me, I received this from my mom who received this from her friend. I'm just trying to be helpful here.

Right, but viruses are spread in some chain letters. You got it from your mom who got it from her friend. The statement at the bottom says pass along to as many people as you can. It's a chain letter and therefore there's always a possibility that it contains a virus in an attachment. I'm sure you wouldn't open the attachment.

I'm just trying to be helpful too.

If you see an email, like this one, that says "be on the lookout for this virus" or something like that, THAT email might be the one containing the virus to throw you.

I believe both those quotes from above are from me.

But anyways, I agree with Penultimate, chain letters like these only serve to fire people up. Plus, most of these viruses are from years ago, so it is most likely the virus email has a different subject.

I hate chain mails.

99.9% of these so called viruses are hoaxes. Type any of them in to Google and it tells you that. However, this one seems to be or has been genuine at some point.
